Alshaya Group appoints Dina Hammoud as Vice President of People for MENA

Alshaya Group has elevated Dina Z. Hammoud to the position of Vice President of People for the Middle East and North Africa region, effective January 2025.

Dina joined the largest retail franchise in 2002 and most recently held the position of People Director for MENA in 2023. Over the last two decades, she has served the company in key roles, including HR Director of Core Services in Kuwait, Director of HR Business Partnering, and Recruitment Manager.  

Dina has been an advocate for positive work culture, diversity and inclusion, and workforce transformation. She believes in keeping people at the core of everything she pursues and has led several initiatives fostering a culture of trust, where employees feel valued and engaged. She also sparks meaningful conversations, whether on mental health and well-being, creating an inclusive workplace, a culture of care for women, learning and development, or new and flexible ways of working.  

Dina recently announced on LinkedIn, “It has always been and always will be about the People!  

Dear network, I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Vice President - People MENA at Alshaya Group! The land of opportunities and the biggest believer in its internal talent…”  

Key leaders at Alshaya Group, including Graeme Cook, Chief People Officer, and Iman Aziz, Head of Marketing, Hospitality Division for MENA, extended their wishes to Dina. Graeme said, “Congratulations, Dina - you inspire us all every single day. Just know how proud we all are of you and your journey so far. Well done!” Iman added,  “Congratulations, dearest Dina Z. Hammoud, on your well-deserved promotion! You've always been a strong advocate for people, and I speak from personal experience. On the academic front, Dina holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre from the Lebanese University - Faculty of Fine Arts. She began her career in media and art as a freelancer but started her HR journey with Alshaya Group, building core expertise in recruitment, talent management, performance management, learning and development, employee relations, engagement, DEI, and HR policies.
