Kearney appoints Hani Tohme as Head of Sustainability - MEA
Kearney, a global management consulting firm, has appointed Hani Tohme as the Head of Sustainability for the Middle East and Africa region, with effect from February 2025.
Hani brings over about 18 years of industry leadership experience to his new role. Sharing the news on LinkedIn, he reflected on his passion for Sustainability, “I’m thrilled to share that I am starting my new role as Head of Sustainability for the Middle East and Africa at Kearney Abu Dhabi this week. This step marks a significant milestone in my personal mission to advance sustainability globally while continuing to focus on a region I deeply believe in: the GCC. My passion for key sustainability topics such as Waste Management and Water Management, biodiversity, decarbonization, and the Circular Economy remains stronger than ever. I firmly believe that ecology and economy are not opposing forces but essential partners, and this perspective will continue to guide my work with clients and partners.”
“In this new chapter, I aim to foster collaboration across the sustainability ecosystem—because real, scalable impact requires action from governments, businesses, communities, and individuals alike. To bridge the existing gaps, I will focus on building multi-stakeholder consortiums that bring together technical, financial, legal, academic, and non-profit expertise. Together, we can create practical, innovative, and lasting sustainability solutions that are still missing in today’s market. Starting this journey is a bold step toward the commitments I’ve set for 2025 and beyond, and I look forward to working closely with the Kearney team, and creating impact together with my peers, clients, and partners to turn vision into action. A huge thank you to the Kearney leadership team for entrusting me with this role. Your vision for sustainability aligns deeply with mine, and I am excited to collaborate with my new colleagues on this shared mission,” he added.
Mauricio Zuazua, Regional Chair for Kearney MEA welcomed Hani on the team commenting, “Welcome on board Hani! We are excited for your leadership in aligning economy and sustainability in the region and beyond. Can’t wait to work with you on this front!”
In his previous roles, Hani worked with Roland Berger for nearly nine years, holding key roles including Managing Director and Head of Sustainability in the MENA region. He also served Arthur D Little as the Energy Practice Lead, and Schlumberger. Currently, he also serves as HKUBS Alumni Network Middle East as the President.
