SalamAir elevates Nabil Al Balushi as Head of People
Oman’s leading airline, SalamAir, has promoted Nabil Al Balushi to Head of People, with immediate effect.
Nabil shared the news on LinkedIn, saying, “I’m happy to share that I have been promoted and I’m starting a new position as Head of People at SalamAir!”
In his new role, Nabil will lead the HR department, overseeing key areas such as Employee Relations, Compensation & Benefits, Employee Services, and Corporate HR. He will develop and implement HR policies, ensure compliance, and align HR strategies with business goals. Nabil will continue to foster a culture that enhances employee experience, improves productivity, and provides a safe, efficient work environment while guiding management on HR-related decisions.
Nabil joined SalamAir in 2017 as a Talent Acquisition and Employee Relations Specialist and later advanced to the role of HR Business Manager. Over the past eight years, he has played a key role in strategic workforce planning, talent management and development, employee engagement and retention, performance management, change management, HR policy development and compliance, budgeting and resource management, as well as leadership and team management.
Prior to joining SalamAir, Nabil worked with Oman Air for over eight years, holding key positions including HR Officer and HR Admin.
As an emerging HR leader, Nabil believes in empowering employees, fostering a culture of open communication, and implementing empathetic and efficient HR strategies. He is committed to enhancing workforce capabilities, streamlining HR processes, and supporting organisational growth. Throughout his career, he has emphasized people-centric practices and driving excellence in HR within the aviation industry.

On the academic front, Nabil holds an MBA in International Business Administration and Management from Muscat University and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Waljat Colleges of Applied Sciences.
