Saudi Bio appoints Wafi Alshehri as Head of People & Organisation

Saudi Bio, a leading biotech manufacturer, has appointed Wafi Alshehri as the Head of People and Organisation, effective July 2024. 

In his new role, Alshehri brings over 15 years of HR leadership experience across the biotechnology and government sectors. This is his second term with Saudi Bio, having previously served the company for four years until his departure in 2021. Following his exit, he joined Biogen as a Human Resources Business Partner in Saudi Arabia and later served as the People Relations Partner, supporting HR functions, employee relations, workplace issues, and engagement across the USA, Europe, and the Biogen Intercontinental Region (BIR).

During his previous tenure at Saudi Bio, Alshehri was the HR Manager for over two years. Before that, he worked with the Royal Saudi Air Force for more than five years as a Rescue and Search Specialist. Academically, Alshehri holds a Master's degree in Human Resources Management from the University of Connecticut School of Business, a Master's degree in Public Administration from East Carolina University, and a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from King AbdulAziz University. He also has key certifications in Occupational Safety and Health, Recruitment, Economic Development, Resource Management, Project Management, PMI Risk Management, and a CIPD course in HR and People Development.

Sharing the news, Alshehri posted, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Head of People & Organization at SAUDIBIO!”

He also shared his exit news from Biogen, stating, “After an incredible journey since September 2021, it is bittersweet to announce my departure from Biogen. My time there has been nothing short of transformational. From setting up the entire affiliate in Saudi Arabia as the HR Business Partner Lead to joining the global People Relations team in the US, the experience has been instrumental in shaping my career. Supporting both US and international organizations has been truly fulfilling. I am immensely grateful to have worked with such a talented and dedicated team. The support, mentorship, and friendship from my colleagues have been invaluable, and I will always cherish the memories we’ve created together. Special thanks to the entire People Relations team and KSA leadership team for your unwavering support and collaboration. 

As I have now returned home to Saudi Arabia, I am thrilled about the new challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, both personally and professionally.”
