Allianz Trade appoints Dario Locatelli as CEO in Middle East
Allianz Trade, a global insurance company, has appointed Dario Locatelli as the Chief Executive Officer for the Middle East region, effective from May 1, 2024. Dario will relocate to Dubai to work closely with Luca Burrafato, the Head of MMEA region.
In his new role, Dario brings around two decades of leadership experience. He joined the company in 2014 and has been leading Allianz Trade MMEA (Mediterranean, Middle East, and Africa Region) as the Regional Head of Surety since 2022 onwards.
Dario assumes responsibilities from Jean Claus, who is transitioning to another role for Allianz Trade in Italy. Jean posted last month, “Welcome to Allianz Trade in Italia as Regional MMEA CFO. I’m delighted to have the opportunity to join the fastest growing Region across the globe. I will be based in Italy, a country that I started to discover two weeks ago and which seems very promising.”
Before joining Allianz Trade, Dario held leading roles at several insurance companies, including Zurich, AXA, and RSA. On the academic front, he holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Brescia and a master's degree in Risk Engineering from Cineas, Italy.
