Oman Air names Con Korfiatis as new Chief Executive Officer

Oman Air has announced the appointment of Con Korfiatis as the Chief Executive Officer, following approval from Eng. Saeed Al Mawali, Minister of Transport, Communications, and Information, and Chairman of Oman Air, as well as the Board of Directors.

In his new role, Con brings more than three decades of leadership experience in the aviation industry. He will be responsible for spearheading the transformation and growth strategy for the airline. He assumes responsibilities from Capt. Nasser Al Salmi, who has been serving as Acting CEO since last year, after Abdul Aziz Al Raisi stepped down from the role. Nasser will continue to serve as the Airlines’ Chief Operating Officer.

Prior to his appointment, Con served as the CEO for Flyadeal, Partner at Heidrick & Struggles, Senior Partner at Flight Ideas Consulting, Vice President at Garuda Indonesia Citilink, CEO at VIVA Macau Airlines, CEO at Jetstar Asia Airways, and Head of Strategy at Qantas. He also worked with Singapore Airlines, Ansett Australia, and Air New Zealand at the beginning of his career.

On the academic front, Con holds a bachelor's degree in Economics and Finance from Monash University. His core competencies include executive management, business planning, leadership, strategic planning, business operations management, change management, organisational transformation, and consulting.
