Saudi Cable’s Chairman Sabri Alghamdi resigns; New Chairman & executive leaders announced

Saudi Cable Company, the leading fibre optic cable manufacturer, has announced the appointment of Abdullah Alghabin as the new Chairman, following Sabri Alghamdi's resignation from the post on April 20, 2024.

Interestingly, the board initially appointed Alghamdi as Chairman for a three-year term starting April 4, 2024. However, upon his resignation, the board swiftly named Alghabin as his immediate successor. Alghamdi will continue to serve the company as a member of the board due to his existing commitments.

In addition to this change, Mubarak Al-Muqbil has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer, and Khalid Asaad Khashoggi as the Managing Director, effective from April 17, 2024, following approval from the company's board of directors.

In his new role, Fawaz brings over 34 years of industry leadership experience. He assumes responsibilities previously held by Nael Samir Fayez, who has transitioned to the position of Company Advisor. Nael served as Group CEO from February 2023 and held a three-year term as a Board Member starting in 2021.

Prior to his appointment as the new CEO, Fawaz held leadership positions at Middle East Specialised Cables Co. (MESC) and Middle East Cable Company (Misk) as CEO, and served as Chairman of National Industrial Company and General Manager of Steel Products Company. Academically, he holds a bachelor's degree in industrial management and a master's degree in executive management from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM).

On the other hand, the new Managing Director, Khashoggi, brings over 22 years of leadership experience. In his previous roles, he served as Vice Chairman of Thimar Development Holding Co., Partner and executive board member at Kalyan Finance Group, and was a member of the Saudi British Joint Business Council and the Saudi French Business Council.
