Vince Cook steps down as NBF CEO; Adnan Anwar takes over
The National Bank of Fujairah (NBF), a leading bank in the UAE, has announced the resignation of its Chief Executive Officer, Vince Cook, and the appointment of Adnan Anwar as the new CEO, effective from October 1, 2024.
Vince, who served the bank for the last 14 years, will continue in the role until September 30, 2024. Adnan, who is currently serving as the Deputy CEO, will work closely with Vince during this time to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities.
Announcing the significant CEO transition, the bank stated, “Vince Cook has been an integral part of NBF's growth and success over the past 14 years. Under his leadership, the bank has undergone a digital transformation, broadened and deepened its SME banking, trade finance, and Islamic finance offerings, and pursued a robust ESG strategy, delivering a strong financial performance despite significant global economic headwinds.”
The Board of Directors of NBF also expressed their gratitude to Vince for his years of exceptional service and dedication to the bank. H.H Sheikh Saleh Bin Mohamed Bin Hamad AlSharqi, Chairman of the Board of Directors - NBF, commented, “The bank’s Directors are deeply grateful for Vince’s contributions and leadership over a period that has been transformative for NBF. Adnan has been serving the bank for over 19 years and has held key roles including Deputy CEO and Chief Financial Officer. On the academic front, he holds an MBA degree from London Business School and is a certified Chartered Accountant from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
