7X appoints Tariq Ahmed Al Wahedi as Group CEO
UAE-based investment and holding group in trade, transport, and logistics – 7X has appointed Tariq Ahmed Al Wahedi as its new Group CEO, with immediate effect.
The company announced, “As part of our ongoing journey towards development, the Board of Directors of 7X has approved the appointment of Tariq Ahmed Al Wahedi as the new Chief Executive Officer.”
In his new role, Tariq brings over 27 years of leadership experience across the logistics, CEP solutions, investment, agri-food technologies, and venture capital sectors. His appointment comes at a pivotal time, as the company evolves and transforms at a significant pace—strengthening its global position while accelerating growth and innovation in the industry. And he will spearhead the group’s growth and innovation towards the next phase.
Tariq most recently served GMX Group as General Manager, and prior to that, he was Managing Director at Yas Holding.
In earlier roles, he worked with Agthia Group as CEO and Chief Operating Officer. He also founded Blue Line Chemicals in 1998 and played a key role in establishing it as a leading manufacturer of oil & gas chemicals in the UAE, Oman, and Kuwait. Additionally, he was instrumental in expanding its drilling, production, and refinery operations across the GCC, North Africa, East Africa, and India.
Beyond these roles, Tariq has also served as a board member for Arkan, Al Gharbia Pipe Company, Al Foah, Emirates Post, Al Ain Farms, and Make-A-Wish International.

On the academic front, Tariq holds a BSc degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Tulsa, an executive MBA Program from Kellogg-HKUST, and a Global CEO program from the Wharton School.
