Al Jouf Cement Company CEO resigns; New MD appointed

Al Jouf Cement Company has confirmed the resignation of its Chief Executive Officer, Abdulkarim Al Nuhayer, upon approval by the company’s Board of Directors.

In a statement submitted to the Saudi Tadawul, the company said, “Approval of the resignation of the Chief Executive Officer, Abdulkarim bin Mohammed Al-Nuhair, effective at the end of his contract on 21-08-2025, as per his request.”

Al Nuhayer was appointed as the CEO & Managing Director in 2022, and he also served as a key member of the company’s board. Holding around three decades of leadership experience, he previously worked with Al Watania Poultry as CEO, Akel Company as CEO, Al Watania for Industries as Group VP of Marketing & Planning, Saudi Paper Group as General Manager, and STEPCo and Saudi Ceramics in key roles.

In addition to Al Nuhayer’s resignation, the company also appointed Qais Hussein Balas as the new Managing Director. “Appointment of Qais Hussein Balas as the Managing Director of the company (Executive Member of the Board of Directors), effective from the date of the Board’s decision until the end of the current Board term on 05-08-2027,” the company stated in the official announcement.

Balas brings around two decades of leadership experience to his new role. He most recently served Manaseer Industrial Complex Company as CEO for nearly nine years. Prior to that, he worked with GMS Holdings as Chief Financial Officer, Hikma Pharmaceuticals as Financial Advisor, and Deloitte as Senior Auditor.

On the academic front, Balas is a certified Management Accountant, Chartered Financial Manager, and Financial Consultant from the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), and completed a BSc in Accounting and Finance from Yarmouk University.
