Emirates NBD names new Head of HR for Wealth Management & Business Banking

Emirates NBD, a leading banking group in the MENAT region, has appointed Esra Jamal Alsamarra'i as the Head of Human Resources for Wealth Management, Priority Banking, and Business Banking. 

“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Head of HR - Wealth Management, Priority Banking, and Business Banking at Emirates NBD!” Esra announced in a LinkedIn post

In her new role, Esra brings over two decades of strong HR leadership experience across the BFSI and real estate sectors. Before her appointment, she worked with HSBC as the Regional Head of Learning for Wealth, Private & Personal Banking for the MENAT region. She served the global bank for more than 17 years, in key roles including Senior HR Business Partner for Wealth Management and Retail Banking, and Manager - Talent, Resourcing, and Organisational Development. In her previous roles, Esra worked with wasl group and Amlak Finance. 

On the academic front, she holds a Bachelor's degree in Internet Science and Technology; E-Commerce from the University of Wollongong in Dubai. She also possesses certifications in Leadership Potential from Korn Ferry Institute, NLP Coach from MindBridge NLP & Coach Trainings, and Facilitator of Strength Deployment Inventory from Core Strengths. Her core competencies include employee engagement, HR policies, HRIS, talent management, executive coaching, leadership development, organisation development, succession planning, and recruitment.

Two months ago, Esra announced her exit from HSBC stating, “The time has come to bid farewell to an incredible organisation, to remarkable colleagues, and to my cherished years at HSBC. This marks the end of a 17-year journey with the bank, from my humble beginning as a new joiner in the recruitment team, to leading the L&D agenda for WPB in the region.
