SAMI Navantia names Abdulrahman Al Subaie as Head of HR

SAMI Navantia Naval Industries, a leading defense and space manufacturing company, has promoted Abdulrahman Al Subaie to Head of Human Resources, effective November 2024.  

Announcing his new role on LinkedIn, Abdulrahman posted, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Head of Human Resources at SAMI Navantia!”  

Abdulrahman, who joined SAMI in 2022, brings over 13 years of HR leadership experience across key sectors in Saudi Arabia. He served SAMI for two years in roles including Director of Talent Acquisition. In his new role, he will be responsible for developing and executing HR strategies, policies, and programs that support the business objectives, vision, and values of the organisation, while also supporting employees in achieving their full potential.  

Before joining SAMI, Abdulrahman served Maaden as Section Head of Talent Acquisition, and SABIC for over eight years in key roles, including Global Corporate Talent Acquisition. He began his career in HR with Saudi Research & Publishing Company.

On the academic front, Abdulrahman holds an associate degree in Business Administration and Management, Marketing from Jubail Industrial College, and a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management from Arab Open University. He is also a certified CIPD professional and holds a Black Belt in Internet Recruitment accredited by SocialTalent. With core skills in employee benefits, recruitment, talent attraction and retention, personnel management, HR policies, HRIS, performance management, employee engagement, and workforce planning, he is well-aligned to lead the joint venture SAMI Navantia’s people success and growth.
