Saudi Re appoints Ahmed Ali Al-Jabr as CEO

Saudi Reinsurance Company, better known as Saudi Re, has announced the appointment of Ahmed Ali Al-Jabr as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

In his new role, Ahmed brings over two decades of leadership experience across Saudi Arabia's leading markets. He joined Saudi Re in 2011 as Director of Strategy & Marketing and has since held roles including Chief Operating Officer and Deputy CEO. He was appointed Acting CEO in April 2024 after Fahad Al-Hesni stepped down as MD and CEO.

The company stated in an exchange filing: “Saudi Reinsurance Company ‘Saudi Re’ announces the Board of Directors’ resolution (by circulation) on 26/09/2024, corresponding to 23/03/1446 H, to appoint Mr. Ahmed Ali Al-Jabr as Chief Executive Officer of the Company, effective 01/10/2024, corresponding to 28/03/1446 H, after receiving the Insurance Authority’s non-objection on 30/09/2024, corresponding to 27/03/1446 H. Mr. Ahmed Ali Al-Jabr held the position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer and was appointed Acting Chief Executive Officer on 01/04/2024. He has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance sector and held various executive roles prior to joining Saudi Re in 2011, including General Manager of Strategy Management at Tawuniya.”

Before joining Saudi Re, Ahmed worked with Tawuniya for over 12 years in key roles, including General Manager of HR & Support Services, General Manager of Strategy Management, and Development and Quality Manager. On the academic front, Ahmed holds a bachelor's degree in Applied Linguistics from King Saud University and an MBA from the University of Bradford.
