Westcon-Comstor names Rakesh Parbhoo as EVP for MEA region

Westcon-Comstor, a global IT consultant, has announced the promotion of Rakesh Parbhoo to the newly created role of Executive Vice President of its Middle East and Africa (MEA) business, with immediate effect.

In his new role, Rakesh brings over 26 years of experience to drive the continued growth of the company across the region. He has been serving the company as the Global Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President since 2022 and has also relocated to the United Arab Emirates. He joined the company in 2017 as the Chief Executive for Sub-Saharan Africa and was elevated to the Global CTO role in 2021. Prior to joining Westcon-Comstor, he worked with Dimension Data in the Middle East and Africa, in key roles including Chief Information Officer, Managing Director, and Managing Executive for Africa.

On the academic front, Rakesh holds a BCom degree in Insurance, Risk Management, and IT from the University of the Witwatersrand and has also completed a Management Development Program from Alliance Manchester Business School and a Group Leadership Development Program from GIBS Business School. He possesses strong skills in people management, organisational culture leadership, business strategy, value-based leadership, risk management, networking, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and executive management.
