Hamza Mohammed Saleh Serafi resigns as Makkah Construction & Development Co. MD

Makkah Construction & Development Company has announced the resignation of its Managing Director, Hamza Mohammed Saleh Serafi, with immediate effect.

According to an exchange filing, “The Board has accepted the request of the Managing Director, Mr. Hamza Mohammed Saleh Serafi, to step down from his executive position due to personal circumstances. He will, however, continue to serve as a non-executive member of the Board of Directors. His request was submitted to the Board on 08/05/2025 and accepted on 12/05/2025, with the resignation taking effect from the date of the Board’s decision.”

Hamza joined the company in June 2023 as part of key leadership appointments. Extending its best wishes, the company stated, “The Board of Directors extends its gratitude and appreciation to Mr. Hamza Mohammed Saleh Serafi for his efforts and contributions during his tenure as Managing Director and wishes him continued success in his future endeavors.”

The company has not yet named a successor or disclosed who will be handling his responsibilities in the interim.

The company has been experiencing key leadership shakeups over the past two years. Siraj Hamza Abdullah Ateeq resigned from the position of CEO in September 2023, and Fahad Mohammad Saleh Al-Fawaz was appointed as his successor a month later.

However, Fahad also stepped down from the role in July 2024, citing personal circumstances. Mohammed Abdulkarem Al-Nafea was then appointed to take on CEO responsibilities and currently continues in the role.
