BEEAH Group names Waseem Hassan as Group Chief Human Capital Officer

BEEAH Group, a leading environmental services firm, has appointed Waseem Hassan as the Group Chief Human Capital Officer, effective September 2024.

Announcing his new role on LinkedIn, Waseem posted, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Group Chief Human Capital Officer at BEEAH Group!

Waseem succeeds Najib Makarem, who stepped down from the role in August to join National Holding as the new Group Chief Human Resources Officer. In this new role, Waseem brings nearly two decades of HR leadership experience across leading sectors in the United Arab Emirates. Prior to his appointment, he served as Human Capital Advisor for PwC Middle East for over two years, guiding and advising stakeholders on the design and review of HR business strategies and organisational structures, while driving the development and execution of organisational strategies that enhance cohesion and retention.

In his previous roles, Waseem worked with Medical Group as the Chief People Officer & Chief Transformation Officer, where he enhanced performance-driven cultures, uncovered diversity and inclusion opportunities, fostered cross-cultural cohesion, and executed HR, technology, and transformation initiatives. At DXB Entertainments, he held key roles, including Group Chief Business Support Officer, Chief Transformation Officer, and Group CHRO, driving growth across operations, HR, IT, learning and development, insurance, procurement, and business excellence. He also served as Group Director of HR at Jumeirah Group and Group Manager of HR Development at Dubai Holding.

Academically, Waseem holds an MBA from Anglia Ruskin University and a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Al Ghurair University. He is also a certified Chartered Fellow in HR from CIPD, UK, and holds certifications in Professional and Workplace Coaching from the International Coaching Federation, as well as Inclusive Mindset from PwC. He has extensive experience in leadership development of cross-functional teams, implementing workplace and HR transformation initiatives, strategic capacity planning, driving innovation and digital transformation, and is an advocate for diversity and inclusion to promote employee engagement and drive organisational success.
