EHRDC partners with Keolis MHI to boost Emiratisation in private sector
The Emirati Human Resources Development Council (EHRDC) has announced collaboration with leading rail transportation company, Keolis MHI to boost Emiratisation in the private sector.
As part of the new partnership, EHRD Council and Keolis MHI aim to enhance career opportunities for UAE nationals through targeted technical and vocational training. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by H.E. Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Deputy Chairman of the EHRDC and Director-General of the HR Department in Dubai, and David Franks, Managing Director of Keolis MHI. The agreement prioritises Emirati recruitment and implementing structured training programmes to provide hands-on experience in various engineering and operations roles within the Dubai Metro and Tram systems.
As part of the training programmes, Emiratis hired through this initiative will receive comprehensive training—both theoretical and practical—in crucial rail operations and maintenance areas, including automatic train control systems, automated fare collection, power supply systems, and infrastructure, along with mentoring from senior experts. Additionally, they will help raise awareness among school and university students about career opportunities in the rail industry and facilitate early career training. They will also assist the rail transport company in finding qualified UAE National candidates for its programs, with the goal of cultivating Emirati talent in the industrial sector.
During the MoU signing ceremony, H.E. Eng. Sultan Al Mansoori said, “Partnering with Keolis MHI is a significant step towards our goal of enhancing Emiratisation in the private sector. This collaboration will provide UAE nationals with invaluable opportunities to develop their skills and advance their careers in critical sectors. We are committed to empowering our workforce and ensuring they are prepared to contribute effectively to the nation's economic development."
