Ooredoo Oman appoints Saoud Al Riyami as Chief Executive Officer

Ooredoo has appointed Saoud Al Riyami as the new Chief Executive Officer of Oman, effective immediately.

Riyami succeeds Bassam Yousef Al Ibrahim, who has completed his tenure with the company. “Saoud had been serving as Acting CEO since February 2025, following the completion of Bassam Yousef Al Ibrahim’s tenure. His confirmation in the role reflects Ooredoo’s confidence in his leadership and deep understanding of the Omani market,” Ooredoo explained in an official statement.

Riyami, who joined Ooredoo Oman in 2009, brings over two decades of leadership experience. He previously held key roles, including Chief Business and Wholesale Officer, Head of Business Sales, Director of Business Sales and ICT Solutions, among others.

Welcoming Riyami to the leadership team, the company stated, “We are pleased to announce the appointment of Saoud Al Riyami as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ooredoo Oman. Saoud brings a wealth of experience in business strategies, leadership, and transformation. He has a track record of working in diverse sectors, starting from hotel management, automotive, and telecoms.

On the academic front, Riyami holds a bachelor’s degree from Sultan Qaboos University and an ILM Diploma in Leadership.
