Tibbiyah CEO resigns; Yasir Amin Mohammad Khattab named as successor

Arabian International Healthcare Holding Company, better known as Tibbiyah, has announced the resignation of its current Chief Executive Officer, Eng. Alaa Ahmed Abdul Majeed Ameen, as approved by the Company Board on July 24, 2024.

The company has also announced the appointment of Yasir Amin Mohammad Khattab as CEO, effective September 1, 2024, to succeed the exiting CEO, Alaa Ameen. Announcing the CEO transition in a company filing, Tibbiyah stated, “...the Board of Directors accepts the resignation of Eng. Alaa Ahmed Abdul Majeed Ameen from his position as the Company CEO for personal reasons, which was approved by the Board on July 24, 2024... Moreover, the Board of Directors has approved the appointment of Mr. Yasir Amin Mohammad Khattab as CEO of the company, effective September 1, 2024.”

The company also extended its best wishes to the exiting CEO, stating, "...the Board of Directors expressed its sincere gratitude and appreciation to Engineer Alaa Ameen for his efforts during his period as Tibbiyah CEO, and wished him all the success in his future endeavors.”

Alaa Ameen, who held the position for nearly five years, has not specified the reason for his exit, with the company confirming the move citing ‘personal reasons’. He will continue in the role until August 31, 2024, and the newly named CEO, Mohammad Khattab, will work closely with him during the transition period for a smooth handover of responsibilities.

In his new role, Mohammad Khattab brings over 30 years of healthcare leadership experience. Prior to his appointment, he served as CEO of Tamer Healthcare. He also worked with Boston Scientific, Schering-Plough – MSD, Sandoz – Novartis, and GSK in key roles. On the academic front, he holds a Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Tanta, Egypt.
