BlackRock names Mohammad Al Fahim as Managing Director and Head of the UAE
BlackRock, a global financial services firm, has announced the appointment of Mohammad Al Fahim as the new Managing Director and Head of the UAE, effective June 2024.
In his new role, Al Fahim brings approximately 15 years of leadership experience across the finance, healthcare, and government sectors. He will lead BlackRock’s businesses across the UAE, Oman, and Bahrain, overseeing overall growth and expansion in Middle Eastern markets.
Before his appointment, Al Fahim worked with Goldman Sachs in key roles, including Chief Executive Officer for Abu Dhabi’s ADGM branch. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President at Dubai South and Vice President at Mubadala Investment Company. He also worked as a General Dental Practitioner with the Dubai Health Authority at the beginning of his career.
On the academic front, Al Fahim holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from University College Cork and completed an Executive Education course in Private Equity & Venture Capital from Harvard Business School.
