Siemens Energy appoints Dietmar Siersdorfer to bolster presence across Middle East and Africa; Nadja Håkansson exits
Siemens, a global automation equipment manufacturer, has announced the appointment of Dietmar Siersdorfer as the Managing Director for Siemens Energy - Africa, effective from April 1, 2024. In addition to his current position as MD for the Middle East, he will oversee teams in Africa and spearhead increased collaborations of best practices in both regions.
Dietmar, who joined Siemens in 1987, transitioned to his current position as Managing Director for Siemens Energy Middle East four years ago. He takes over responsibilities from Nadja Haakansson, who has stepped down as Senior Vice President and MD for Africa after four years of service. Nadja served in key leadership roles over the last 18 years, initially joining the company in 2005 as a Project Manager for Sweden.
Defining his vision for the new role, Dietmar commented, “With abundant natural resources, a growing population, and rising energy demand, Africa has huge potential to drive energy transition, not just across the continent but also around the world. By aligning our efforts across the Middle East and Africa, we can more effectively address the unique energy challenges they face, from enhancing energy access to advancing sustainable development. There are significant benefits of harnessing synergies and similarities between these regions to drive innovation, efficiency, and growth for Siemens Energy and our partners."
