DMCC has launched DMCC Cyber, a dedicated cybersecurity vertical, as its technology ecosystem grows past 4,000 companies, making tech the largest and fastest-growing sector in the district. The new hub will support more than 200 cybersecurity companies working across cyber resilience, digital trust, data protection, identity, governance, risk, and compliance.
4,000 tech firms, 200-plus cyber companies
The launch comes with the formalisation of DMCC Tech, an umbrella platform bringing together the DMCC AI Centre, Crypto Centre, Gaming Centre, and the new Cyber vertical, with DMCC Quantum expected to follow. The platform will connect technology firms with DMCC’s wider network of more than 26,000 member companies across global trade, finance, commodities, and emerging technologies.
For Dubai, this is not just another sector-specific launch. It shows how cybersecurity is becoming a core layer of the city’s digital economy. As AI, blockchain, gaming, fintech, trade platforms, and data-led services scale, companies will need stronger capabilities to protect systems, data, infrastructure, and customer trust.
Dubai’s Cyber Security Strategy 2023 also identifies “cyber secure society” as one of its four domains and calls for stronger cyber skills, secure use of emerging technologies, resilient infrastructure, and active collaboration across public and private sectors.
From IT risk to workforce capability
The HR relevance is clear. Cybersecurity hiring in Dubai will increasingly move beyond technical roles into digital trust, AI governance, privacy, risk, compliance, incident response, and business continuity. HR teams will also need stronger controls around employee data, AI tools, vendor platforms, and workforce systems.
The larger challenge is cyber fluency across the organisation. Finance teams need fraud awareness. HR teams need data protection discipline. Legal teams need stronger digital risk understanding. Business leaders need to make cyber resilience part of operating governance, not a post-breach response.
26,000-company network raises the stakes
DMCC Cyber can help Dubai attract specialist firms and deepen its cybersecurity ecosystem. The harder test for employers will be building internal capability fast enough to match the pace of digital adoption.
As Dubai’s tech economy scales, trust will become a talent and leadership issue. Companies that build cybersecurity into roles, learning, leadership accountability, and everyday decision-making will be better placed to grow.
Those that leave it only to IT will carry higher operational and reputational risk.
