Aramco Digital has announced a leadership transition with the appointment of Dr. Ashraf AlTahini as Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Eng. Nabil Al-Nuaim.
The company confirmed the transition in an official statement, saying, “Today, we bid farewell to our CEO, Eng. Nabil Al-Nuaim, with appreciation and gratitude for his contributions to the establishment of Aramco Digital and his support throughout its journey since inception. We wish him continued success and fulfillment in his next chapter.”
Aramco Digital said the appointment marks the beginning of its next phase of growth, with a stronger focus on industrial AI and digital transformation across critical sectors.
“We are proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Ashraf AlTahini as Chief Executive Officer of Aramco Digital, leading the company’s next phase of growth and accelerating its strategic direction in industrial AI to enable more connected, intelligent, and resilient digital ecosystems across critical sectors,” the company stated.
The company added that Dr. AlTahini brings nearly three decades of experience in digital transformation, innovation, and advanced technologies, alongside a strong leadership track record in scaling digital organisations and leading large-scale technology initiatives.
“We look forward to the next chapter of Aramco Digital’s journey under his leadership,” the statement added.
As CEO, Dr. AlTahini is expected to focus on scaling execution, accelerating industrial digital transformation, and delivering measurable impact across key sectors aligned with Saudi Arabia’s wider digital and economic ambitions.
Since assuming leadership of Aramco Digital in 2026, he has been leading the company’s growth strategy focused on advanced industrial digital platforms, industrial solutions, connectivity infrastructure, and enterprise transformation initiatives.
Prior to becoming CEO, Dr. AlTahini served as Business Executive President and Board Member at Aramco Digital, where he oversaw enterprise-wide strategic execution, governance, and value creation across major business units.
Before joining Aramco Digital, he held several senior leadership positions within Saudi Aramco, including Vice President of the Upstream Digital Center. In that role, he led one of the company’s largest digital transformation programmes, driving operational modernisation, advanced technology adoption, and industrial innovation initiatives.
Earlier in his career, Dr. AlTahini also led Saudi Aramco’s EXPEC Advanced Research Center and global research ecosystem, overseeing innovation programmes, sustainability technologies, commercialisation initiatives, and international research centres across multiple continents.
Academically, Dr. AlTahini holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Petroleum and Geological Engineering from University of Oklahoma, along with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.
Commenting on his appointment, Dr. AlTahini said, “I am pleased to join Aramco Digital at this important stage, building on an established journey of achievement.”
“In the coming phase, our focus will be on accelerating industrial digital transformation through the development of advanced industrial digital platforms and solutions that enable smarter, more connected, and resilient operations, while enhancing efficiency and productivity across vital sectors,” he added.

In a separate message reflecting on his transition, Eng. Nabil Al-Nuaim expressed appreciation for the support received during his tenure and highlighted the broader national efforts driving digital transformation in Saudi Arabia.
He also extended his support to the incoming leadership, saying, “I also wish Dr. Ashraf Al-Tahini, every success in leading Aramco Digital. I am fully confident that the journey of excellence will continue in the coming phase.”
The leadership transition comes as Aramco Digital continues to strengthen its role in advancing industrial AI, digital ecosystems, and innovation initiatives aligned with Saudi Arabia’s broader digital transformation ambitions under Vision 2030.
