UAE-based energy solutions provider Ducab has appointed Matteo Bavaresco as Group Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, as the company seeks to accelerate its regional and international expansion.
Bavaresco succeeds Gert Hoefman, who served as Interim Group CEO over the past year. Hoefman will remain associated with Ducab as a member of its Board of Directors, providing continuity and strategic guidance during the leadership transition.
The appointment comes as Ducab looks to deepen its international presence, having expanded beyond the UAE to serve customers across 75 countries.
Global experience to support Ducab’s next growth phase
Bavaresco brings more than 25 years of leadership experience spanning Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region. His background includes leading international cable businesses and managing organisational transformation, high-performance teams and public-private sector collaboration.
His public professional profile also lists previous chief executive roles with Prysmian in the UK and China. UK Companies House records show that he held directorships across several Prysmian entities before stepping down in September 2025.
Welcoming the appointment, Hoefman said Bavaresco’s global industry experience and expertise in organisational transformation positioned him to guide Ducab through its next stage of growth and competitiveness.
“His exceptional track record in the global cable industry and his deep expertise in driving organisational transformation make him an ideal leader to guide Ducab into a new era of global competitiveness,” Hoefman said.
Focus on innovation, teams and long-term value
Bavaresco said he was joining the organisation at an important period for Ducab, the UAE and the wider global energy sector.
He highlighted the company’s contribution to the UAE’s industrial development, alongside its focus on sustainable energy solutions, and said he would work with Ducab’s teams to strengthen innovation and create long-term value for partners and communities.
“I am honoured to join Ducab at such a dynamic time for the company, the UAE and the global energy sector,” Bavaresco said. “Ducab’s reputation for excellence, its commitment to sustainable solutions and its foundational role in the UAE’s industrial growth are inspiring.”
With Bavaresco taking operational leadership and Hoefman continuing on the Board, Ducab said it intends to pursue new business opportunities, widen its international footprint and strengthen its position in the evolving energy solutions market.
