Jabal Omar Development Company has appointed Eng. Waleed Ali Al-Harthi as its new Chief Executive Officer, following the resignation of Eng. Saleh Habdan Alhabdan.
The company’s Board of Directors accepted Alhabdan’s resignation, effective 3 September 2026. He will continue to serve as a member of the Board of Directors.
Al-Harthi will assume the CEO role on 6 September 2026, bringing more than 20 years of executive and professional experience spanning hospitality, asset management, facilities management and operations.
He most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of Abraj Al-Saa’ah Company, which operates the King Abdulaziz Endowment for the Two Holy Mosques in Makkah. During his tenure, he led strategic and operational initiatives across the hospitality sector, with a focus on improving asset efficiency, strengthening partnerships and enhancing services and experiences for pilgrims.
Al-Harthi has also held senior positions at the National Water Company and Mobily. At NWC, he served as Deputy Senior General Manager for the Western Cluster, overseeing shared services, governance, health, safety, security and environment, IT operations and risk management.
Earlier, at Mobily, he spent more than a decade in facilities, projects, procurement and contract management roles, including General Manager of Administration and Total Facility Management.
His career began at SABIC as an electrical instrument engineer. At Abraj Al-Saa’ah, Al-Harthi oversaw a large-scale mixed-use asset with operations involving thousands of employees and service providers. His tenure included capital restructuring initiatives, hotel asset optimisation, cost-saving programmes and the introduction of technology-enabled operational controls.
He also launched a Hajj and Umrah business vertical and received recognition from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for related initiatives.
Al-Harthi holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) and has completed a leadership development programme at Smith School of Business at Queen’s University.
His appointment comes as Jabal Omar Development continues to develop one of Makkah’s major hospitality and mixed-use destinations, with the new leadership expected to build on the company’s operational and strategic priorities.
