Lockton has appointed Lewis Morgan as Regional Head of HR for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), expanding his leadership remit as the global insurance brokerage continues to strengthen its presence across the region.
Based in Dubai, Morgan brings experience in strategic HR business partnering and people leadership across the insurance and financial services sectors. He has held senior HR positions at Lockton, with his expanded remit now covering regional people strategy.
His experience spans HR business partnering, employee relations, talent development and organisational strategy. Before joining Lockton, Morgan worked at Atrium Underwriters as a Senior HR Business Partner and was recognised at the 2023 London Market People Awards for his contribution to HR and learning and development.
Throughout his career, Morgan has focused on leadership development and employee experience, with his professional commentary covering areas such as career development, difficult conversations, social capital, personalised employee benefits and the impact of technology on human capability.
His appointment comes as companies across MENA navigate an increasingly competitive talent market while expanding their operations and adapting workforce strategies to local market conditions. For multinational organisations, regional HR leadership increasingly involves aligning global people practices with different labour regulations, talent pools, cultural expectations and employee needs across markets.
The role also comes at a time of significant change in the insurance industry, with digitalisation, evolving customer expectations and demand for specialised skills reshaping the workforce. HR functions are increasingly expected to help organisations identify critical capabilities, develop talent and prepare employees for technology-enabled ways of working.
Morgan has previously explored the impact of technology and data on the human side of work, including how increased measurement and analytics can influence workplace interactions and decision-making. His broader HR perspective has also emphasised personalisation, professional development and employee experience.
For Lockton, a dedicated regional HR leadership role will support its workforce strategy as the company operates across diverse MENA markets. The function is expected to play a role in workforce planning, leadership development, talent management and employee experience as the business grows.
Morgan’s expanded remit reflects the broader evolution of HR leadership in the region, where people functions are increasingly expected to act as strategic business partners rather than focus solely on operational employee processes.
As organisations compete for specialised talent and build capabilities across multiple markets, regional HR leaders are taking on a greater role in connecting workforce planning and organisational development with broader business priorities.
