Oman Air has appointed Nasser Al Sharji as its new Chief Executive Officer, with the appointment taking effect on September 1, 2026, as the national carrier continues its transformation and efforts to strengthen financial and operational performance.
Al Sharji brings more than 25 years of executive leadership, operational and business transformation experience across aviation, logistics, oil and gas, and government services. He has held senior leadership roles at ASYAD Group, OQ and Nama Water Services, where he led major national projects and organisational transformation initiatives.
Most recently, Al Sharji served as Chief Executive Officer of Transom Handling and Acting Chief Executive Officer of Oman Airports Management Company, giving him extensive experience across Oman’s aviation ecosystem.
He holds an Executive MBA and has also served as a board member and chairman of committees across multiple sectors.

The leadership transition follows the tenure of Con Korfiatis, who has served as Oman Air CEO since May 2024. During his tenure, the airline advanced efforts to improve financial sustainability, operational efficiency and organisational effectiveness amid increasing competition in the aviation industry.
Korfiatis will remain with Oman Air as Advisor to the CEO, providing continuity and guidance during the transition.
The appointment comes as Oman’s aviation sector continues to play a key role in the country’s broader economic diversification and connectivity ambitions under Oman Vision 2040.
Al Sharji’s experience across aviation and major national transformation programmes is expected to support Oman Air as it navigates its next phase of development.
