Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Company (Petro Rabigh) has appointed Hassan bin Hamad Al Yami as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, following the resignation of Othman bin Ali Al Ghamdi from the role.
The company said Al Ghamdi’s resignation, attributed to personal circumstances, will take effect on 31 August 2026. He will continue to serve as a member of Petro Rabigh’s Board of Directors.
The company’s board accepted Al Ghamdi’s resignation and approved Al Yami’s appointment during a meeting on 23 August. Al Yami will officially assume the CEO role on 1 September 2026.
Al Yami brings more than three decades of leadership experience in the refining and petrochemical industry. He previously served as Vice President of Saudi Aramco’s Ras Tanura Refinery and held several senior executive positions at Saudi Aramco subsidiaries in Saudi Arabia and international markets.
His career has included leadership of large-scale refining and petrochemical operations, major capital projects and corporate transformation initiatives, positioning him to lead Petro Rabigh as the company continues to navigate operational and business priorities.
The board also expressed its appreciation to Al Ghamdi for his contributions and leadership during significant transitional periods in Petro Rabigh’s history.
The leadership change comes as Saudi Arabia’s energy and petrochemical sector continues to undergo transformation, with companies placing greater emphasis on operational efficiency, large-scale investment and business transformation.
