SalamAir has appointed Eng. Yaqoob bin Saif bin Hamoud Al Kiyumi as its new Chief Executive Officer, with the appointment taking effect on October 1, 2026.
The leadership change comes as the Oman-based low-cost airline enters its next phase of growth, with a focus on sustainable expansion, operational excellence, customer experience and strengthening its position within Oman’s aviation sector.
Al Kiyumi will succeed Adrian Hamilton-Manns, who has served as CEO of SalamAir. The airline’s Board of Directors thanked Hamilton-Manns for his leadership, dedication and contributions during his tenure.
Welcoming Al Kiyumi to the role, the board said his leadership would build on the airline’s existing foundations and achievements while supporting its continued growth and commitment to affordable and accessible air travel.
Under the new leadership, SalamAir said it will continue working to strengthen connectivity between Oman and international markets. The airline also aims to support the development of Oman’s aviation and tourism sectors in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
The appointment comes as Oman continues to position aviation and tourism as key contributors to economic diversification under Vision 2040. For SalamAir, the next phase will centre on balancing network and business growth with operational performance and customer experience.
Al Kiyumi’s appointment is expected to mark a new chapter for the airline as it works towards its long-term strategic priorities and seeks to expand its contribution to Oman’s aviation ecosystem.
The exiting CEO Hamilton-Manns, who has more than two decades of experience working with prominent airlines, has not yet shared any details about his next move.
