FMTECH has appointed Mike Thompson as its new Chief Executive Officer following the completion of JLL's acquisition of a significant stake in the Public Investment Fund (PIF)-backed facilities management company.
Thompson succeeds interim CEO Marwan Bouez, who has transitioned to the board of the newly structured FMTECH entity.
Thompson joins the role with nearly 20 years of experience at JLL, where he led major client engagements across industries including life sciences, technology, financial services and industrials. Most recently, he served as Americas Workplace Management Lead, overseeing services for more than 250 clients and driving operational performance through data and technology-enabled solutions.
As CEO, Thompson will lead the integration of JLL's digital facilities management platforms and global operating systems into FMTECH's operations. The company said the move is expected to improve service quality, operational efficiency and transparency while creating long-term value for clients.
The leadership appointment also supports PIF's broader strategy of expanding private sector collaboration to strengthen its portfolio companies and contribute to Saudi Arabia's economic transformation.
Commenting on his appointment, Thompson said the Kingdom presents significant opportunities for the facilities management industry.

Thompson holds bachelor's and master's degrees from DePaul University and is a Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) and Sustainable Facilities Professional (SFP) through the International Facility Management Association (IFMA).
The appointment marks a key milestone in the collaboration between JLL and PIF, bringing together JLL's global expertise in facilities management, operations and technology with FMTECH's local market knowledge to strengthen service delivery in Saudi Arabia's rapidly expanding facilities management sector.
