Oman-based insurer Muscat Insurance Company has appointed Syed Zaheerullah Hussaini as Acting Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.
Hussaini will be temporarily performing the CEO’s duties until December 31, 2026, the comapny said in the announcement to the Muscat Stock Exchange.
The appointment was approved by the company’s Board of Directors under Resolution No. 07/2026, issued by circulation on 23 September 2026, and received approval from Oman’s Financial Services Authority (FSA) on the same day.
In an announcement, the company said, “The Board of Directors has appointed Mr. Syed Zaheerullah Hussaini as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Company on a temporary basis until 31 December 2026.”

Hussaini brings over two decades of leadership experience in the insurance sector, including more than 18 years with Muscat Insurance Company.
During his tenure, he has held several leadership positions and contributed to the company’s operations and development.
The company added, “Mr. Syed Hussaini holds a Master of Commerce along with Diploma / Fellow in Insurance. He has 26 years of insurance experience and over 18 years of experience with Muscat Insurance Company SAOG, during which he has held several leadership positions and made significant contributions to the Company's operations and development.”
Hussaini succeeds Steven John Samson, who was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Muscat Insurance in October 2025.
Samson’s appointment took effect on October 5, 2025, according to the company’s previous filing with the Muscat Stock Exchange.
Muscat Insurance concluded its latest announcement by wishing Hussaini “every success” in his new responsibilities.
