Sharjah Ruler Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi has approved the general organisational structure of the Sharjah International Airport Authority, establishing a framework for the authority’s functions, responsibilities and organisational units.
The Emiri Decree, issued by Sheikh Dr Sultan, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, provides for the approval of the authority’s overall organisational structure, with further decisions to be issued to establish its detailed structure.
Under the decree, the Sharjah Executive Council will be responsible for issuing the decisions required to implement the new framework. This includes approving job descriptions and defining the duties and responsibilities of the authority’s organisational units in line with their respective competencies.
The council will also have the authority to establish, merge or abolish organisational units within the departments covered by the general organisational structure.
The decree provides the organisational framework for the Sharjah International Airport Authority as the emirate continues to expand its aviation infrastructure and passenger capacity.
The move comes as Sharjah International Airport records strong passenger traffic during the peak summer travel period.
The organisational decree was issued alongside a separate Emiri Decree approving the general organisational structure of the Sharjah Department of Human Resources (SDHR).
That decree similarly gives the Sharjah Executive Council responsibility for approving the department’s detailed organisational structure and the measures required for its implementation.
The council will also approve job descriptions for the department’s organisational units and may establish, merge or abolish units within the departments covered by the approved structure.
The two decrees form part of Sharjah’s wider efforts to establish clear organisational frameworks across government entities, defining responsibilities and supporting the effective functioning of their respective departments and units.
