UAE, Qatar strengthen ties for labour and Human Resource development

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), United Arab Emirates has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Labour, State of Qatar, to enhance cooperation, exchange expertise, workforce legislations, and human resource development. 

The MoU was signed during the 11th GCC Labour Ministers’ Meeting in Kuwait by H.E. Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, UAE Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and Acting Minister of Higher Education, and H.E. Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri, Qatar’s Minister of Labour. 
As part of the agreement, both countries will work together in line with GCC Labour Ministers Committee recommendations, focusing on cooperation, sharing expertise, joint initiatives, and coordination in labour-related areas.
This MoU also aims to boost expertise exchange among GCC countries including, improving job seeker registration and employment processes, advancing training programs, and supporting the development of national workforces. 
“It also supports the Abu Dhabi and Doha Dialogues by promoting regional and international cooperation to improve the governance of migrant labour movement across work migration corridors linking Asia, Africa, and GCC countries, along with other related areas,” the official statement said.

As part of the agreement, both nations will form special committees to launch joint initiatives, share experts for technical advice, and exchange best practices. They will also share labour market data, legislation, research, and information systems, while increasing participation in international seminars and conferences related to their areas of cooperation.
