Dubai’s Emirati Human Resources Development Council (EHRDC) has partnered with Nissan Middle East to expand employment, training and career development opportunities for UAE nationals in the private sector.
The two organisations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 7 September to support the recruitment and professional development of Emirati talent, with a focus on aligning training with the evolving needs of the labour market.
The agreement was signed by Abdulla Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Deputy Chairman of EHRDC, and Thierry Sabbagh, Divisional Vice President and President – Middle East, KSA, India and CIS, Nissan and INFINITI.
Under the partnership, EHRDC and Nissan Middle East will collaborate on recruiting UAE nationals and providing specialised training in fields that are currently available and in demand within the company. Nissan will contribute its industry expertise to facilitate knowledge and skills transfer, helping Emirati employees strengthen their capabilities and develop sustainable careers.
The agreement also expands EHRDC’s engagement with private sector organisations, including companies operating in free zones, as the Council seeks to connect Emirati talent more closely with employer requirements.
Al Falasi said the partnership marked a step forward in the Council’s efforts to strengthen private sector collaboration and broaden opportunities for UAE nationals across diverse and competitive work environments.
He emphasised that Emiratisation is not limited to job creation but also involves equipping UAE nationals with the skills and expertise required to contribute effectively to private sector organisations. The partnership will therefore focus on aligning training programmes with business requirements while monitoring employees’ professional development to support long-term career stability.
Sabbagh said Nissan looked forward to contributing to the development of Emirati talent by providing UAE nationals with the skills, expertise and exposure to regional and global markets needed to succeed in a changing business environment.
He added that the partnership reflects Nissan’s support for the UAE’s Emiratisation objectives and its efforts to create opportunities for professional growth while strengthening the role of Emirati talent in the country’s diversified economy.
The collaboration forms part of EHRDC’s broader efforts to increase private sector employment among UAE nationals. It also supports the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, particularly its focus on skills development, labour market competitiveness and knowledge-driven economic growth.
