B Capital appoints AI veteran Dr. Andrew Jackson as General Partner and Chief AI Officer

Global multi-stage investment firm B Capital has appointed Dr. Andrew Jackson as General Partner and Chief AI Officer, tasking the veteran artificial intelligence executive with leading the firm's global AI strategy across investment, portfolio management and operations.

Dr. Jackson will work with B Capital's teams to enhance AI-driven sourcing, due diligence, knowledge sharing and founder support. He will also provide technology leadership to AI-driven businesses incubated by the firm.

Dr. Jackson brings more than 20 years of experience in AI, machine learning and data, with expertise in enterprise deployment and responsible AI leadership.

He most recently served as Chief AI Officer at G42, where he partnered with OpenAI to develop country-specific AI strategies aimed at driving industry transformation across the UAE. He also oversaw governance for Stargate UAE, a 5-gigawatt AI infrastructure cluster described as the largest of its kind outside the US.

Dr. Jackson also founded a Microsoft-backed regional AI Foundation focused on advancing AI governance practices.

Previously, he founded and served as CEO of Inception, an AI lab and G42 company that developed what B Capital described as the most extensive family of open-source AI models in the MENA region. The company supported AI transformation initiatives among regional leaders in investment, government and energy.

Earlier in his career,  Dr. Jackson played a key role in expanding Palantir's presence across the MENA region. He holds a PhD in machine learning from Trinity College Dublin.

In his new role,  Dr. Jackson will also help establish an ecosystem of AI companies focused on AI research, AI-native products and services, and partnerships aimed at transforming the investment industry.

His remit will include scaling B Capital's internal proprietary technology platform, developing new AI tools for investment, creating AI-driven investment products and supporting advanced AI research. The firm said these efforts will also extend to its investments in AI-driven businesses, including its recently announced agreement to acquire Russell Investments.
