ABFC appoints Valery Hurynovich as new Chief Executive Officer

Hurynovich brings a wealth of experience to lead ABFC’s global expansion, drive composite innovation, and support the UAE’s industrial decarbonization goals.

The Arab Basalt Fiber Company (ABFC) has appointed Valery Hurynovich as its Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. 

In his new role, Hurynovich brings over two decades of leadership experience across the healthcare, finance, and FMCG sectors. He most recently served at Binevir as Chief Operating Officer for around four years and previously worked with Galen, RUSNANO, NPF of Electric Power Industry, and Citibank, delivering high-performance operations across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. 

“Hurynovich’s appointment reflects ABFC’s strategic vision to expand its global footprint, advance next-generation composite technologies, and contribute to the UAE’s ambition for an advanced, resilient, and decarbonized industrial economy,” ABFC said, announcing the appointment.

H.E. Eng. Mohammed Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al Shehhi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Mining Company and Managing Director of ABFC, commented, “Valery’s appointment marks an important step in the company’s journey toward sustainable growth and an expanded industrial presence across regional and global markets. Throughout his tenure, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership and professionalism, and we are confident in his ability to further strengthen ABFC’s position as one of the region’s foremost producers of advanced composite materials.”

Hurynovich added, “It is an honor to lead the Arab Basalt Fiber Company at such a pivotal stage in its evolution. Together with our talented team, we will continue to expand our production capabilities, strengthen our global partnerships, and develop innovative solutions that accelerate the transition toward more sustainable and efficient industrial materials.” 

On the academic front, he holds an MBA degree from HEC Paris and NYU Stern School of Business, an Executive MBA from TRIUM Global, a Master’s degree in International Business and Global Studies from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), a Diploma in Economics from Ruhr University Bochum, and an MSc in Management of Technology and a BA in International Business from Belarusian State University.
