Bahrain Airport Company appoints Ahmed Janahi as CEO

Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the operator and managing body of Bahrain International Airport, has appointed Ahmed Mohamed Janahi as its Chief Executive Officer, effective August 2, 2026.

Janahi will lead BAC as it focuses on strengthening operational efficiency, enhancing passenger experience and advancing the strategic priorities of Bahrain International Airport in line with the Kingdom’s National Aviation Strategy.

BAC Chairman Khalid Hussain Taqi said Janahi brings extensive experience and a strong understanding of the aviation sector and airport operations, expressing confidence in his ability to drive the company’s performance and support its next phase of development.

Janahi said he would work closely with the board, employees and partners to build on the company’s achievements, with a focus on safety, operational efficiency and passenger experience.

He brings more than 20 years of aviation experience across airport and airline operations, safety, crisis management, compliance and corporate transformation. 

Before taking up the CEO role, Janahi served as Acting CEO and Chief Airport Operations Officer at BAC, overseeing airport operations, safety and crisis management and coordinating with strategic partners.

His previous leadership roles include positions at Oman Air and Gulf Air, where he contributed to corporate transformation and operational development. He has also served on the boards of Bahrain Airport Services (BAS) and Sabre Travel Network Middle East.

The appointment underscores BAC’s focus on developing national talent and strengthening Bahrain International Airport’s position as a regional aviation hub.
