Bank al Etihad appoints Heba Qasem as Chief Financial & HR Officer for International and NBFI businesses

Qasem will oversee consolidated IFRS reporting, capital planning, regulatory alignment, and group-level workforce governance across the bank’s international and non-banking financial services operations.
Bank al Etihad has appointed Heba Qasem as Chief Financial & Human Resources Officer – International & Non-Banking Financial Institutions (NBFI),with immediate effect.
Qasem joins the bank’s leadership team with more than 20 years of experience in finance, governance, regulatory compliance, and human resources management.
Qasem announced the appointment on LinkedIn, stating, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Chief Financial & Human Resources Officer - International & NBFI at Bank al Etihad.”
In her new role, she will oversee consolidated IFRS reporting, capital planning, regulatory alignment, and group-level workforce governance across the bank’s international and non-banking financial services operations. Her appointment reflects the growing convergence of financial stewardship and people strategy within modern banking institutions.
Before joining Bank al Etihad, Qasem served as Chief Financial Officer and Head of HR at INVESTBANK Jordan, where she led the bank’s finance and people functions for more than three years. During her tenure, she played a key role in strengthening governance frameworks, enhancing transparency, driving talent development initiatives, and supporting organisational transformation efforts.
A banking veteran with extensive experience in financial governance and regulatory oversight, Qasem has held several senior leadership positions throughout her career. Prior to INVESTBANK, she served as Head of Financial Control Unit at Al Rajhi Bank Jordan, where she was part of the establishment team that helped launch the bank’s operations in Jordan as an Islamic financial institution.
Her career also includes leadership roles at Capital Bank of Jordan, where she headed managerial accounting functions, and board-level responsibilities across financing and payment institutions, contributing to governance, compliance, and strategic oversight.
Qasem holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Jordan and is widely recognised for her expertise in IFRS reporting, capital management, regulatory compliance, Islamic banking standards, and organisational leadership.
