DePuy Synthes appoints Tiziana Reina as Head of HR EMEA

In her new role, Reina will lead the HR agenda across the EMEA region as DePuy Synthes establishes itself as an independent organisation following its separation from Johnson & Johnson.

DePuy Synthes, an orthopaedic solutions company, has appointed Tiziana Reina as Head of Human Resources for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), effective July 1 2026.


In her new role, Reina will lead the HR agenda across the EMEA region as DePuy Synthes establishes itself as an independent organisation following its separation from Johnson & Johnson.


She will be responsible for shaping the company's people strategy, organisational culture, leadership capability, talent agenda and organisational identity during a key phase of transformation and growth, as per media reports.


Extensive HR experience


Before taking on the new role, Reina served as Head of HR for Johnson & Johnson MedTech Italy and OneHR Italy, Greece & Israel. She led the HR strategy for the MedTech business while overseeing OneHR operations across multiple countries.


Earlier, she was Head of HR Pharma, EMEA Strategy Organisation at Janssen Europe, Middle East & Africa. In the role, she partnered with senior leaders to drive strategic capability building, talent management, organisational transformation and change initiatives across the region.


She also led talent acquisition across EMEA as Head of Talent Acquisition at Johnson & Johnson, strengthening recruitment capabilities and regional hiring strategies.


Career progression


Reina previously served as Head of HR Pharma for Italy, Greece & Israel at Janssen EMEA. She led HR transformation, organisational design, leadership coaching, workforce capability development and business partnering. She also served on the local Board of Directors and the cluster HR leadership team.


She spent more than 11 years with The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, progressing through several HR leadership roles. During this time, she led strategic workforce planning, succession planning, talent development, labour relations, diversity and inclusion initiatives, HR governance and M&A-related people integration projects.


Earlier in her career, Reina held HR and consulting roles at Fiera Milano SpA, Resolweb srl and SDA Bocconi School of Management, where she contributed to projects focused on organisation design, performance management, coaching and human resources management.
