
Edamah appoints Khaled Al Majid as Chief Executive Officer
Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company, better known as Edamah, has announced the appointment of Khaled Al Majid as the new Chief Executive Office, to be effective from March 16th, 2025.
Khaled brings over 20 years of leadership experience in global markets to his new role. He spent nearly 15 years as Vice President at Premier Group and previously worked as a Senior Financial Analyst at Arcapita Bank. Now joining Edamah, the real estate arm of Mumtalakat, he brings extensive expertise leading high-profile developments across local and international markets.
Throughout his career, Khaled built a strong hold in driving real estate investments, leading project companies and cross-functional teams, and executing strategic initiatives with impact.
Welcoming Khaled to the leadership team, Edamah’s Board of Directors expressed confidence in his ability to steer the company into its next phase of Building for Bahrain. The board also extended its sincere appreciation to outgoing CEO Christopher Calvert for his dedication and contributions during his tenure.
H.E. Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, CEO of Mumtalakat and Chairman of Edamah also welcomed Khaled saying, “Khaled’s strong real estate background, extensive industry relationships and deep understanding of market dynamics positions him well to steer Edamah towards the next phase of its growth.”
Khaled added, “I am honoured to join Edamah as CEO and look forward to working closely with the board and the management team to expand Edamah’s contribution to the national economy, while supporting the sustainable growth of Bahrain’s real estate market.”

Khaled also brings a wealth of academic excellence, with an MBA from London Business School, a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from Concordia University, and key certifications in financial analysis and other relevant skills. His core competencies include investment banking, corporate finance, analysis, risk management, and investments.
Currently, Chris Calvert serves as the CEO of Edamah. However, no official statement has been released regarding whether he is stepping down or moving into a new role.
