Emkan has appointed Fahad Al Owais as its new Chief Human Resources Officer, bringing on board a seasoned HR leader with more than 15 years of experience across the banking, telecommunications, and technology sectors.

Al Owais joins Emkan after an extensive tenure at Bank Albilad, where he most recently served as Head of Human Resources Transformation for over eight years. During his career, he also held key leadership roles including Senior Director of Talent Acquisition and Director of Learning and Development at Bank Albilad.

His professional journey further includes roles at stc as a Learning and Development Specialist and at SABB, where he worked in talent management as well as credit card and loan processing.

Announcing his departure from Bank Albilad last month, Al Owais reflected on his experience with gratitude, describing the organisation as “a dear entity” where he spent “eight of the most rewarding years” of his professional life.

“During this time, I learned so much and had the honor of working alongside outstanding professionals with exceptional values and integrity,” he shared.

He also thanked the bank for fostering “a culture of respect and appreciation toward employees” and acknowledged colleagues and mentors who contributed to his professional growth, with special recognition for his manager, Haitham Almedainy, for his support and guidance.

Al Owais brings a strong academic and professional foundation to his new role. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Al Yamamah University, a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management from King Abdulaziz University, and a diploma in Banking Operations from Institute of Public Administration.

He has also completed the International Leadership, Management, and Diplomacy Program at Washington State University and earned a CIPD Certificate in Human Resources Practice.

The appointment comes as organisations across Saudi Arabia continue to strengthen leadership teams focused on talent transformation, workforce development, and future-ready workplace strategies.
