Gulf Business Machines appoints Pieter Bil as CEO

Bil brings more than 30 years of executive leadership experience spanning business transformation, growth and digital modernisation for Fortune 500 companies and government organisations.
Gulf Business Machines (GBM) has appointed Pieter Willem Bil as its new Chief Executive Officer, as the digital solutions provider looks to accelerate growth across regional markets and strengthen its focus on artificial intelligence (AI), digital infrastructure and technology transformation.
Bil brings more than 30 years of executive leadership experience spanning business transformation, growth and digital modernisation for Fortune 500 companies and government organisations. He joins GBM from Kyndryl, where he served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa.
In his new role, Bil will lead GBM’s strategic growth across the region, with a focus on helping enterprise and public sector customers accelerate AI adoption, modernise digital infrastructure and navigate complex technology transformations.
His experience includes leading large-scale transformation programmes, scaling operations and developing technology partnerships. GBM said his understanding of regional markets, along with his work on AI integration and multi-vendor technology environments, will support the company’s continued regional expansion.
Commenting on the appointment, Marwan Faraj Bin Hamoodah, Chairman of GBM, said Bil’s leadership and strategic outlook would be important as organisations across the region place greater emphasis on resilient technology and business continuity.
Bil said his immediate focus would be on delivering secure and intelligent infrastructure to support the region’s next phase of digital economic growth.
“I am honored to join GBM at such a pivotal moment in the region’s technology evolution,” Bil said. “Together with the talented team at GBM, I look forward to building on our strong foundation and driving sustainable value for our clients.”
The appointment comes as organisations across the Middle East continue to invest in AI, cloud, cybersecurity and modern digital infrastructure as part of broader national digital transformation agendas.
Under Bil’s leadership, GBM said it will continue supporting enterprise and public sector customers with end-to-end technology capabilities aimed at improving agility, security and operational resilience.
