Ingka Group, the largest IKEA retailer, has appointed Alejandra Piñol as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and Global People & Culture Manager, effective January 1, 2026.

In her new role, Piñol will take enterprise-wide responsibility for shaping and leading IKEA’s global People & Culture strategy, at a time when leadership intent, cultural coherence, and human-centric growth are increasingly central to business performance.

Piñol brings more than 14 years of experience within the IKEA ecosystem, having held senior people leadership roles across multiple geographies and business contexts. Her career spans roles including CHRO for IKEA China, Deputy CHRO at Ingka Group, and leadership positions overseeing global talent and retail people strategies. The appointment reflects both deep institutional knowledge and a strong global HR perspective.

Announcing the move on LinkedIn, Piñol said she would assume the role effective 1 January 2026, describing it as a privilege to continue contributing to IKEA’s vision of “creating a better everyday life for the many people.” She emphasised the importance of leadership grounded in intention, consistency, honesty, and care, noting that people remain at the heart of IKEA’s culture and long-term success.

“I’m committed to building on our strong foundation while embracing the opportunities ahead with determination and kindness,” she wrote, thanking colleagues who have supported and inspired her throughout her journey at IKEA.

Biesèrt also shared the transition on LinkedIn, calling it an opportunity to bring together her passion for people, planet, and purpose, while continuing to drive positive impact for co-workers and communities globally.

With Piñol’s appointment, IKEA signals a continued focus on embedding people and culture at the core of its global strategy, as the organisation navigates an increasingly complex and fast-evolving operating environment.
