Media City Qatar, a leading global hub for the media industry, has promoted Engineer Jassim Mohamed Al-Khori to the position of Chief Executive Officer, effective August 2024.

In his new role, Jassim brings approximately 20 years of leadership expertise in project development and management. He will be responsible for leading the global hub for media content creators, entrepreneurs, innovators, and creative talents, in alignment with the development of the national media and creative sector as envisioned in the Third Qatar National Development Strategy 2030. He will focus on transforming the hub with a long-term corporate strategy, business development, and investment portfolio, while overseeing its multifaceted mandate as a regulator, developer, and investor. Additionally, he will play a key role in driving media innovation and digital transformation in Qatar.

Prior to his appointment, Jassim served as the Executive Director of Strategy & Corporate Performance at the global hub for nearly five years. He also serves as a Board Member at the Qatar Economic Forum, an Advisory Committee Member at the University of Doha for Science & Technology, and an Advisory Committee Board Member at Texas A&M University at Qatar and Qatar University. In his previous roles, he worked with North Oil Company Qatar as Asset & Exploration Manager, Maersk Oil Qatar as Deputy Subsurface Director, and Maersk Oil Research and Technology Centre as Technical Manager. He also worked with Shell Oil Company (USA), Qatar Shell GTL, and Schlumberger Oil Field Services at the beginning of his career.

On the academic front, Jassim holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Qatar University, an MBA from the University of Northampton, and certifications in executive leadership programmes from Qatar Leadership Centre and INSEAD.
