National Bank of Egypt appoints Yasmine Wahid as CHRO

Wahid is widely known for her strong belief in people-first workplaces, having consistently championed cultures that move beyond policies to prioritise trust, authenticity and strong values.
National Bank of Egypt (NBE) has appointed Yasmine Wahid as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective immediately.
Wahid shared the news in a LinkedIn post, saying she was “happy to share” that she is starting her new role at the country’s largest state-owned lender.
Wahid brings over 18 years of human resources and strategic leadership experience in Egypt’s banking sector. Known for her strong belief in people-first workplaces, she has consistently championed cultures that go beyond policies to focus on trust, authenticity and values.
Before joining NBE, Wahid most served as Deputy CHRO at CIB Egypt, marking her second stint with the bank. She began her professional journey at CIB more than 15 years ago, holding several senior roles including Head of HR Business Partnering, Organizational Development and Talent Acquisition, before moving on in 2022. She also spent nearly three years as Head of HR at EGBANK, further strengthening her leadership credentials across the sector.
Throughout her career, she has led HR functions with a balance of empathy and strategic rigour, helping build high-performing teams and inclusive environments where employees can thrive.
Academically, Wahid holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Cairo University and an MBA in HR Development from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.
Her professional development includes certifications in HR Business Partnering from the Human Capital Institute (USA), HR Management and Services from SHRM, and an executive MBA from London Business School. She is also a certified Positive Psychology Coach, adding a distinctive people-centric dimension to her HR leadership approach.
