Oman Cables appoints Rania Soud Al-Mazrouai as Chief Human Resources Officer

Al-Mazrouai has been with Oman Cables for more than five years and most recently served as director of audit, risk and compliance, as well as secretary to the Audit Committee.
Oman Cables Industry has appointed Rania Soud Al-Mazrouai as its chief human resources officer, moving her from a leadership role in audit, risk and compliance into the company's human resources function.
Al-Mazrouai announced the appointment on LinkedIn, writing: “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Chief Human Resources Officer at Oman Cables Industry!”
She has been with Oman Cables for more than five years and most recently served as director of audit, risk and compliance, as well as secretary to the Audit Committee. Before that, she was audit and compliance director and Audit Committee secretary from November 2020 to May 2025.
Reflecting on the move, Al-Mazrouai said the transition marked the end of an important chapter in her career in internal audit, risk management and compliance.
“As I move into this new role, I also close an important chapter of my career in Internal Audit, Risk Management, and Compliance. A journey that has taught me a lot, both professionally and personally. Throughout my career, I have always believed that control functions should not be seen only as functions that provide assurance or ensure compliance. They can also be valuable strategic partners to the business, while maintaining the independence and objectivity that their roles require.
“This is something I have tried to put into practice during my time at Oman Cables. Whether it was strengthening internal controls, improving risk management, supporting business decisions, or promoting compliance and ethical standards, my aim has always been to add value and contribute to the company’s success.”
She also acknowledged the support she received from the company's leadership and colleagues, highlighting the role of senior management in embedding governance practices.
“Looking back, I am particularly grateful for the trust and support I received from our Board of Directors, Audit Committee, Executive Management, and my colleagues.
“One thing this journey has reinforced for me is the importance of Tone at the Top. Strong governance is not achieved through policies and procedures alone. It starts with leaders who genuinely believe in it, support it, and lead by example. And this brings me to something else I strongly believe in: investing in people.
“I believe one of the greatest strengths of any organization is its ability to recognize potential, develop its people, and give them opportunities to grow beyond their existing roles. I am grateful to Oman Cables for giving me that opportunity.”
In her new role, Al-Mazrouai said she would focus on people, talent and leadership, while continuing to work closely with the business.
“Moving from Audit, Risk, and Compliance into Human Resources is certainly a new challenge, but my approach remains the same. I want to understand the business, work closely with people, challenge where needed, and contribute in a meaningful way. The difference now is that my focus will be on people, talent, leadership, and building an organization where employees can grow and perform at their best.
“I am proud of what we have achieved together in my previous role, and I look forward to continuing this journey from a different perspective.
“Thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey so far. I have learned a great deal from you, and I look forward to what comes next. Because I truly believe that business success starts with people.”
Before joining Oman Cables, Al-Mazrouai worked as assistant manager of internal audit and Audit Committee secretary at Gulf Investment Services Holding. Her earlier experience includes positions at Crowe Horwath Oman, KPMG and Oman Arab Bank. She has also undertaken a project-based international assignment with Prysmian.
She holds a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Staffordshire and completed an advanced leadership programme at SDA Bocconi. She is pursuing an Executive MBA at the University of Strathclyde.
