Oman Housing Bank appoints Yousuf Al-Araimi as Chief Human Capital Officer

Al-Araimi is expected to continue shaping the bank’s human capital agenda, with priorities spanning people development, organisational effectiveness, employee experience and HR transformation.

Oman Housing Bank has appointed Yousuf Al-Araimi as Chief Human Capital Officer, marking the latest step in his career spanning more than 17 years across human capital, banking and oil and gas.


Al-Araimi announced the appointment on LinkedIn, describing the move as a responsibility built on the trust of the bank’s Board of Directors, CEO Moosa Al Jadidi and his colleagues.


He joins the role after serving as AGM – Head of Human Capital at Oman Housing Bank for over three years. During his tenure, he was involved in the bank’s broader transformation, with a focus on people strategy and building a future-ready workforce.


In his new role, Al-Araimi is expected to continue shaping the bank’s human capital agenda, with priorities spanning people development, organisational effectiveness, employee experience and HR transformation.


“An organisation’s greatest strength will always be its people,” Al-Araimi said, reflecting on his experience at Oman Housing Bank and the role of human capital in organisational transformation.


Before joining Oman Housing Bank, Al-Araimi spent nearly six years at Sohar International, where he held several senior HR roles, including VP & Head – Total Rewards & HR Digitalisation, VP & Head – Organisational Development, and AVP & Head – Talent Planning & Acquisition.


His experience also includes leading major HR technology initiatives at Sohar International. As Project Manager for the implementation of Oracle HCM Cloud, he led the bank’s strategic rollout covering 10 modules and worked across HR, technology, the PMO and Oracle consultants. He also led an Oracle ERP HRMS upgrade project.


Earlier in his career, Al-Araimi spent nearly nine years at Bank Sohar, progressing from Manager – Compensation & Benefits to Unit Head – Talent Planning & Acquisition. He also worked as a Compensation Specialist at Oxy.


Alongside his new position, Al-Araimi has served as Deputy Chairperson of the Oman Banks Association’s HR Committee since May 2026, contributing to discussions around talent, leadership, workforce transformation and HR practices across Oman’s banking sector.


He holds an MBA from the University of Strathclyde and a bachelor's degree in Translation (English-Arabic) from Sultan Qaboos University.


Al-Araimi said his focus in the new role would be on creating an environment where employees can “grow, contribute, thrive, and make a meaningful difference”, signalling a continued emphasis on people development as Oman Housing Bank advances its transformation agenda.
