Omran Group names Ayad Ali Al Balushi as new CEO

Al Balushi succeeds Dr. Hashil Al Mahrouqi, who stepped down as CEO of Omran Group in October last year, with current CFO Saif Sulaiman Al Yarubi overseeing the responsibilities in the interim.
Omran Group, a leading tourism development and investment company in Oman, has appointed Ayad Ali Al Balushi as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.
The company announced, “The Board of Directors of Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN Group) has appointed Ayad Ali Al Balushi as Chief Executive Officer of the Group. The appointment reinforces the Group’s commitment to strengthening institutional leadership and supporting efforts to develop the tourism sector, in line with national priorities and the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.”

Al Balushi succeeds Dr. Hashil Al Mahrouqi, who stepped down as CEO of Omran Group in October last year. The company appointed Saif Sulaiman Al Yarubi as Acting CEO, in addition to his current role as CFO.
Al Balushi brings around 25 years of leadership experience across Oman’s energy, technology, and financial services sectors. He most recently served as Chief Financial Officer at the Oman Investment Authority for over five years.
He has also held senior roles with OQ as Integration Chief and CEO of Alternative Energy, Oman Oil Company Exploration & Production as CFO, and SLB in financial and risk management positions.
Al Balushi began his career as an engineer at Petroleum Development Oman after earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nottingham.
