Qualcomm appoints Wassim Chourbaji as SVP and President of EMEA

Qualcomm has appointed Wassim Chourbaji as Senior Vice President and President of its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) business, effective immediately.

Chourbaji will be responsible for leading and executing Qualcomm’s regional strategy and advancing its priorities across the company’s businesses.

He has spent more than 20 years at Qualcomm, holding leadership roles across the company. Most recently, he served as President of Qualcomm Middle East and Africa (MEA), while also leading the company’s government affairs organisation across EMEA.

Chourbaji takes over the regional leadership role from Enrico Salvatori, who has led Qualcomm’s EMEA business for more than two decades. Salvatori has decided to retire from the company in June 2027 after 25 years.

With immediate effect, Salvatori will become Chairman and continue to lead Qualcomm’s EMEA Automotive business until his retirement.

“EMEA is an important region for Qualcomm, and we remain committed to investing in its long-term growth and success, with Wassim’s leadership experience, strategic vision and ability to build strong partnerships across industry and government continuing to be instrumental to Qualcomm's success,” said Akash Palkhiwala, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Qualcomm.

Palkhiwala also thanked Salvatori for his contribution to the company’s regional operations. “I would like to thank Enrico for his extraordinary leadership and contributions over the past 25 years. He has built a strong organisation, expanded our presence across key industries and fostered deep relationships with customers, partners and governments throughout the region,” he said.

The leadership transition comes as Qualcomm continues to develop its presence across EMEA, with the region spanning its activities across technology, automotive and government partnerships.
