Franz will now oversee a team of 470 HR professionals supporting 52,000 employees across 63 countries spanning EMEA, APJ and China, while continuing to serve as a strategic advisor to regional leadership teams.

Siemens Healthineers has elevated Carolin Franz to Senior Vice President and Head of Human Resources for Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) and China, expanding her responsibilities beyond her current leadership of the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

Franz announced the update in a LinkedIn post, describing the move as “an exciting new chapter” in her journey with the healthcare technology company.

“In addition to my role as Head of HR for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), I am honored to expand my role and take on responsibility for Human Resources for Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) and China,” Franz wrote.

“What excites me most is the opportunity to work with and learn from even more talented colleagues across our global organisation. Every region brings unique perspectives, experiences, and strengths, and I firmly believe that we achieve more when we connect, collaborate, and learn from one another.”

She added, “I am looking forward to building new relationships, supporting our teams and leaders, and shaping the future together across EMEA, APJ, and China.”

With the expanded remit, Franz will now oversee a team of 470 HR professionals supporting 52,000 employees across 63 countries spanning EMEA, APJ and China. She will continue serving as a strategic advisor to regional leadership teams while remaining a member of the company’s global HR leadership team, reporting directly to the CHRO and member of the managing board.

Franz brings nearly two decades of global HR leadership experience across healthcare, industrial software and technology sectors. During her more than 11 years at Siemens Healthineers, she has held a series of senior HR leadership roles covering transformation, organisational design, talent management, post-merger integration and business partnering.

Prior to her latest appointment, she served as SVP and Head of Human Resources for EMEA, where she led HR operations for 32,000 employees across 48 countries. She also led the company’s global HR transformation initiative focused on hybrid work and human-centric collaboration following the pandemic.

Her previous assignments include serving as Global HR Business Partner for Advanced Therapies, where she supported employees across Germany, the United States, China, India and Spain, as well as leading the HR integration of Varian following its acquisition by Siemens Healthineers.

Before joining Siemens Healthineers, Franz held HR leadership positions at Siemens and completed an international assignment with Siemens PLM Software in Dallas, Texas.
